I hear you. I am guilty as sin when I say I haven't read one of the most
highly recommended books "ILE Concepts", which is at InfoCenter.
When we contracted with Jon Paris I was already dabbling with most of the
stuff that some purists call RPG IV versus RPGLE. It was the procedures,
etc, that these people consider the LE part of RPGLE that I wasn't quite
getting. The first day or so covered the RPG IV, then we got into RPGLE.
That's when I exclaimed something like "this is what I've been waiting
for".
At COMMON I went to several session on procedures, binder language, etc.
