David,

Instead of creating a view, build the SQL select statement using a
character string at run time and then EXECUTE IMMEDIATE the character
string.

Hope this helps.

Glenn

Hi all,

Using SQL with RPG is totally new in our company.

I have created a view which uses CURRENT DATE amongst other criteria that
I read as a primary file in my RPG.
This program will be planned to run at the end of the last working day of
each month.

What if the program has to be run on the first day in case of a problem?
It would use the data from the wrong month.

I have a CLP which inititializes my output files: I think I should I be
creating my view at the same time, using my planned date instead of
CURRENT DATE.

Where or how would one do this?

My output files can be created simply but for the input (view) I would
need a source file for RUNSQLSTM or a separate SQLRPGLE program.

Is there a correct way to go about this.
