Did you check your CVTOPT settings on the h-spec (or the
CRTBNDRPG/CRTRPGMOD) command defaults?

Oops, yes the K was needed and I added it. I put that in and
get the following error message now for the SETLL statement.

*RNF7073 30 1 Length of KFLD is not equal to
corresponding key field in

file.

I'm sure this is not it, but you wouldn't have forgotten the
K in the F spec would you?

File is already created but I can not get the program to
compile. Current iteration of the program looks like this.
I am creating the variable length field in the D Spec since I
can not do it in the KFLD line. Then in the EVAL line I am
moving a fixed length field OHPRON into the field and then I
try to access the file. Error *RNF7055 is displayed below.

D W#TRAK 20A VARYING
*
C S1KEY KLIST
C KFLD OHCONO
C KFLD OHCSNO
C KFLD W#TRAK
*
C eval w#trak = ohpron
*RNF7055 C s1key setll shipments1
C read shipments1
34

*RNF7055 30 Factor 1 S1KEY is not valid for the
specified operation.

CREATE INDEX LIBRARY/INDEXNAME ON LIBRARY/FILENAME (
FIELD1 ASC,
FIELD2 ASC,
FIELD3 ASC)
WITH 3 DISTINCT VALUES

You should be able to use the CREATE INDEX to build an index
over the table.
