Maybe a bit academic, but COBOL does have the ability to call Java methods. It's similar to calling Java using RPG prior to V5R1. I don't know if you ever tried that, but I'm having a really bad flashback right now. Brrrr.

As near as I can tell, you're referring to the JNI APIs, right? Looking at chapter 10, it mentions ProgramCall, PCML and JNI... and I can't see how ProgramCall/PCML helps for this situation.

The only reason I'm confused is that you seem to be disagreeing with my statement, and then saying the same exact thing that I said...
