Ist he the possibility to print EAN8 barcodes on *SCS Printers - and how to manage it.
AFAIK, it is only possible if the printer itself can generate the barcodes when given an escape sequence in its own control language. Even if your printer does, once you go down that road you are tied to that printer model, or at least one with a compatible definition language. If using an ASCII based printer, the easy way to get the escape sequence to the printer is by inserting the SCS command string for "ASCII transparency mode", so the bytes do not go through an EBCDIC to ASCII translation phase. Typically, you must also change or override the PRTF to not replace unprintable characters. Search the archives for "ASCII transparency mode" if you have an ASCII printer which support barcode generation. If the question is if you can simply use the DDS keywords for barcode printing, the answer is no. Doug
