Thanks to Lim and McGovern.

Lim your suggestion to compile with COMMIT (*NONE) works like a charm.
Your suggestion to add following lines works too.
C/exec sql
C+ set option datfmt=*iso, commit=*none
C/end-exec

Thanks again.

Try this...

C/exec sql
C+ delete from MyFile where ROTIME < timestamp_iso(:purgeDate)
C/end-exec

Can somebody tell me why following SQLRPGLE codes are not working

D purgeDate s z

C time purgeDate
C purgeDate subdur 15:*d purgeDate

C/exec sql
C+ delete from MyFile where ROTIME < :purgeDate
C/end-exec

Debug shows the value of PURGEDATE = '2007-03-07-08.59.00.070000'

Interactive SQL run fine
delete from MyLib/MyFile where ROTIME < '2007-03-07-08.59.00.070000'

ROTIME is a timestamp field in MyFile which contain data as
ROTIME
2005-05-13-08.55.30.220000
2005-05-13-08.57.00.651000
2005-05-13-08.57.00.846000
