OP is right - it is leaving the scope of the list. But there are numerous advantages: 1 - See below 2 - parenthetical expressions iqty>100 and (iclas='IC' or idesc='Ca Ca') 3 - Joining, like Left Outer Join 4 - More bif's (see sql reference) 5 - UDFs or User Defined Functions 6 - Not being forced to qualify libraries.
