RPG IV is the most widely used language for developing database centric applications (interactive, batch, Web-based, and reports) that run under the native virtual machine of the IBM System i platform, and a member of a family of languages, comprising ILE C, ILE COBOL, and ILE CL, in addition to RPG IV, which may be used independently or in conjunction with one another to create dynamically linked programs and statically bound procedures (which support return values and minimize call-level overhead) and run within the System i Integrated Language Environment. Although the System i supports a number of integrated runtime environments (including Java), the native virtual machine under which RPG IV programs run is the predominate on the platform and is especially known for its exceptional integration (including native database integration, TCP/IP communications integration, native services, etc.), longevity, stability, and performance. Here is what I have come up with so far, feel free to make any suggestions: "RPG IV is a high level language developed exclusively for the IBM iSeries system. It is superior to many other languages due to its integration into the i5OS operating system, stability as a programming language, and backward compatability. RPG IV has the ability to process data in both ineractive and batch modes, and it also interfaces with the apache web server." **************************************************************************** This transmission may contain information that is privileged, Confidential and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
