My computer science professors told us we were not there to learn languages. We were there to learn how to learn languages and how to exploit their strengths. On any given day I can be working on RPG III, IV, Free Form, COBOL or CL - Not to mention embedded SQL. Languages are a tool. If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. Any time I get the opportunity to learn a new language or system, I have just been given another tool for my toolbox.
