Wow -- this is getting more interesting. In the constructor, the program switches to another user profile with *allobj authority. It also creates log files and redirects sysout and syserr to these new log files. the creation of these log files is where the problem occurs. When I run the program with a user profile having *allobj authority, it works. When I run a program with lesser authority, the user profile switches during the execution and the error occurs when creating name of the log files in a stringbuffer. Both situstions indicate that I am using the same JDK. I have the system default JDK set to 1.4. Any other ideas? ======================================= Mike Silvers, Chief Operating Officer Hainey Business Systems-Division of Affinigent, Inc IT Solutions for Business Performance Cell: (717) 324-5508 Phone: (717) 600-0033 ext 106 Fax: (877) 804-9589 http://www.affinigent.com <http://www.affinigent.com/> http://www.hbs-inc.com <http://www.hbs-inc.com/> AIM: IBMJavaMan Skype: hbs_mike_silvers =======================================
