My question would be what is the effect/rule when passed data length is
different from what is defined in the external program of the store
procedure?

Also compatible data types (such as Decima, Integer) can be passed for
numeric fields, and CHAR(), VARCHAR(), GRAPHS() can be passed for
character fields. The length of the parameters is not checked.
