RPGLE module. NOMAIN H spec. Some F specs, under implicit control - not explicit. Warning message that we should close files explicitly when NOMAIN during the compile, but we ignore. Executes fine. Decide to stop ignoring RNF7534. Add a CLOSE. No open statement yet, no USROPN. Warning message during compile goes bye-bye. Executes fine the first time. Second time says that the files aren't opened. Some weird thing where it can implicitly open them, but not implicitly close them? And if you explicitly close them, then you better explicitly open them? Or, let me guess, fire up the program in a different activation group and let that bugger make sure that every thing is dead as nails when it exits and shuts down the AG? The files include a display file so the key/think time slows it down enough that the penalty for starting/stopping an activation group might be negligible? There is no explicit manipulation of LR. I though with NOMAIN that went out the window. Then again, I thought implicit opens when out the window also. Rob Berendt
