Thanks for the tip Matt, but that didn't work either.

Sooooooooooo, I went to Scott Klements website and reviewed his IFS 
tutorial, and created the copybook for his IFSIO_H and changed all my code 
to use his prototyped calls.

Now I have the problem during the 'read' since I'm not sure what to 
specify for the second paramter (the pointer to the buffer)...
