Ok... let me explain. I'm running a test on emailing pdf's. That section of code deletes the spool file after it's sent. I don't want the spool file deleted because for now I want to manually do stuff to it. Once I'm done, I'm removing the if statement. I don't want to comment out the section of code cause I don't want the date to change on the code line because it's not really changed. I would never ever stick a line of code in like that if it was going to production. :) Ron Power Programmer Information Services City Of St. John's, NL P.O. Okay - maybe I'm missing something. If you don't want a section of code to run, why not just comment it out, or delete it altogether? I'm not being sarcastic, I was just wondering if there was an ulterior motive. You can bet, if the reason why that one line is in the program, and there isn't sufficient comments as to why, some OTHER programmer is going to come along and that is going to stump him. I wanted a section of code not to run, so thinking I could just throw in an if statement c if 1 <> 1 and that would keep it from running. Am I missing something?
