I'm running the job in test mode so no problem there. I'm calling the
program from a green screen was all I was going to do.

I've found that you also need to have object authority *USE for the profile
that is running the job.

Are you asking what you should have in CRTRPGMOD DBGVIEW(...)?

You might want to look up "Service Entry Points". Especially if this is
a
web project. SEP's kick tail! Concept is basically you place a SEP on
the program, or service program. You can specify that if any user from
any job uses this to automatically place the object in debug on your
session.

Start debug on a regular RPG*** program and then hit F14 and add the
*SRVPGM, then view source and pick the module you would like to debug.

Subject: Debugging an RPG Module & Service Program

Hi All!

I know I should be able to do this. But it seems I always end up doing
the
project management tasks around here. When I do need to go back & debug
something I have done previously, I can't remember how.

So can someone please, refresh my "old" memory on how to debug an RPG
Module
& Service Program? Everything we have around here except for a couple
of
things are just plain old RPG programs.

This I created and made into a function for use by our web application
and
wouldn't you know it - something needs to be changed and I need to go
back &
look at some pieces of it.

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Debbie
