Charles Why don't you send an example showing what you would do in both situations? To keep it as simple as the others would you test for W or absence of W in the *entry plist? In the previous examples I don't have to do anything. If the result of the test is web I send back html. If the result is workstation I send back a screen. Why bother with an extra parameter when the solutions were so good? Your methods to know if a program is called from a workstation or from a cgi script are too complicated. All you have to do is to pass an additionnal parameter to the called program... This paramter could have the value 'W' for workstation or 'C' for cgi script. Too simple for you? Charles
