Maintaining view is not nearly the strain on resources that it once was. John Sears, (who has been retired for some time now) used to go on about how deleting seldom used logical files made a world of difference. On the other hand, Skip Marcesani wrote a technical article some years back that this was mostly negated several releases ago, and named the releases. Yet, there are those that quote empirical data that shows that extra logical files do still affect the performance of their largest files. Kind of hard to argue with empirical data. YMMV. If you're not doing RGZPFM or other huge rebuilds often you may not notice the difference that others have. Rob Berendt
