Re: user space (2)

Bottom-line: unless whoever or whatever creates and/or populates the user space imposes some structure on it, a user space is simply a block of ordered, addressable, but otherwise unstructured bytes. Think of it as a kind of stream file that can live in the QSYS.LIB file system.
If you're creating and populating the user space, you get to decide how (or if) the data is structured, and unless somebody else has to read it, you don't even have to tell anybody else what structure (if any) you've given the data.
Now program associated spaces, on the other hand, THEY are a total <female canid> to work with, and I don't recommend you start until you've mastered user spaces.
