Lim, Yes, sadly so - CL is, after all, a 'simple' control language - it's really only one step above JCL... If you look in the August issue of iSeries News magazine, you will find an article I wrote about using a compile preprocessor - you could use something like that to create your own pseudo-compiler directives (for CL copybooks etc.), but there are no true CL compiler directives. I use my compile preprocessor to include inline CL code for standard CL 'subroutines (now rendered moot by CL's V5R4 subroutine support) but that's abotu it.
