Changing the sort sequence is easy.  See the ORDER BY clause.

Do you "need" new logicals?  You can do it without adding any new 
logicals.  Even if there are currently none that come even close to what 
you want on your WHERE or ORDER BY clauses.  However "need" is still up to 
the beholder.  If you run your program in STRDBG and look carefully at the 
joblog you may see some messages that suggest you build certain indexes 
(or logical files).  Creating these may help performance.  That's why I 
said "need" is in the eye of the beholder.
