Phil, There is a difference in the manner in which the SFLMSG is implemented vs ERRMSG. With ERRMSG, the message is displayed, the cursor is positioned to the field, and the field is set to reverse image. With SFLMSG, you just get the message displayed. This is due to the fact that the system does not know what field or record number is associated with the error. What you need to do is setup a DSPATR(RI PC) for the field in the subfile record and update the record with the indicator when an error occurs. You should also make sure that you reset the indicator after updating the record, as you do not want all records flagged. Jeff Young Sr. Programmer Analyst Dynax Solutions, Inc. HI I just tried to add another position cursor for a different field in a subfile, during an error condition. Strangely, the first one does work perfectly. However, the second SFLMSG does not position the cursor on the actual error, only on the first field of the subfile. The specific error message does display but not the pos. cursor. Any thoughts?
