Hi Mike,
I'm just curious, since the user has to signon to the system to get to the
application, why do they need to enter another password once they get into
a screen?
IMHO, It might be easier to password protect the application. When they
choose to run the application, display a screen that requests that they
enter a valid password before using the application.
If you're concerned about USER_1not exiting the application and then USER_2
trying to use the application, you could kick USER_1 out after they've
updated the 'Ending Mileage'.
If you want to password protect the field, you could put a password field
next to the 'Ending Mileage' field and check the password in your screen
validation routine in your RPG program.

I am a novice RPG programmer and am trying to make a few changes to a
program. I want one of the fields in the display file to be password
protected. So, when the user is trying to enter the 'Ending Mileage' he
should enter the password 'XYZ' first before entering the data into the
field. Would this require a change in my underlying RPG code also? An
example would be really helpful. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
