Ok, that is the important part, the error about the matching parenthesis.
Why should it look like
""SBMJOB...
When you are not including " in

        cmd = 'SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(BATCHEMAIL) ' +

and, if you did, QCMDEXC, or whatever you are using, would probably hurl 
because of the ".

Paste the contents of cmd up to, and including, JOB(SNDEMAIL) 
and perhaps a few characters after.
