Carel, Yes, I was reading your message as saying you couldn't retrieve info about reference fields. After reading the thread you pointed out, I see that you mean you can't see the reference information itself. Sorry for the confusion. Charles, You misunderstood me on this, I think. I did some research The API at V5R3 does not have a field for this. See also this link (http://archive.midrange.com/oss400/200507/msg00000.html) (a similar discussion was on the Midrange list end 2004/ begin 2005, IIRC). Perhaps it has been changed with the latest Os-release. This applies for DDS created files. Is thisalso true for SQL created files?Huh? I've never heard such a thing about DDS referencefields and the List Fields (QUSLFLD) API makes no reference to such alimitation. I believe you are mistaken. I don't believeyou can tell the difference between a DDS created file that uses referencefields and one that doesn't use reference fields (withoutlooking at the source of course). However, if true for DDS reference fields, it wouldn't betrue for SQL created files. -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
