Sounds like you are saving some "left overs" that ordinarily would be
cleaned up by shutting down the program, as in setting on *INLR. The
program is saying, "I've already done this," and goes back to sleep...

Subject: Parsing multiple Excel workbooks

We have used Scott Klement's XLPARSER4 service program and xlparse.jar
code
(http://www.systeminetwork.com/artarchive/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewartic
le&CO_ContentID=17840&channel=art&PageView=Search)
for several years to load a spreadsheet of journal entries into a work
file for updating into our accounting package.

As originally designed, we only handle one spreadsheet upload at a time
before the edit and update process had to be run to post the journal
entries into the accounting system.

I have been requested to modify the upload to allow entry of multiple
spreadsheet names to be uploaded at a single time. We used a command to
enter the IFS file name so I modified the command to allow multiple
entries and changed the RPGLE program to processing the number of
entries from the CMD PARM and loop through the file names.

The first file gets uploaded fine, the name of the second file gets
prepared but when the xlparse_workbook subprocedure is called, nothing
seems to happen with the second file.

No error is returned (as far as I can tell) but none of the second
spreadsheet's entries are being written to the database upload file.

I'm hoping someone can point me in a direction to investigate.

Thanks, Scott
