You only need a cursor for reading multiple records. My previous example was incorrect. It should have been: Exec Sql Select ItemNumber, ItemDescription Into :dsItem From ItemFile Where ItemNumber = :Item; Instead of /Exec Sql Select ItemNumber, ItemDescription Into :dsItem From ItemFile Where ItemNumber = :Item /End-Exec And thanks Rob.
