Help with a Trigger Problem

From time to time in an overnight job which performs SQL Updates to a

data base file  that can run to several hundred records we get an SQL
error -408.( Valeur incompatible avec type colonne ou variable &1) 

We have also had  SQL0189       30    Le CCSID &1 est incorrect.

 

After removing the trigger (*AFTER / UPDATE INSERT) on this file we have
had no more problems. The trigger programme in RPGLE uses SQL to update
a statistical data base.

 

WE are at RELEASE = V5R3M0. the primary  language is French. The CCSID
is 1147 . 

 

Any ideas as we have other triggers programmes against other files which
use a similar programme structure that work fine.
