Could it have been the other way around? File names passed as parameters?

Or could they mean that the file itself (not just the file's name) can be passed as a parameter?

Parameters as files, to me, would mean a file discriptor capability similar
to C, which allows you to pass a file discriptor (pointer) to a file to
another procedure which can then perform some operation(s) on the file.

Subject: The future of RPG

Folks:

I just got out of George Farr's presentation on the future of RPG.

A few points I thought worth reporting ...

1. He hinted at a name change ... although he bandied about the name
'Jello' :)

2. Some of the things he mentioned *might* be in V5R5 (which was pretty
much confirmed as the next release of OS/<insert name de-jour> at the
opening session) are: Multi-threading & parameters as files (although
I'm not 100% what that means).
