ahh no i didn't multiply a negative by the -1. All my
examples were set to +50 or +1.00. Yes I know negative
* negative is positive.

This is directly from his sample;

C Evalr ExtPrice$ = %editc(Amt * -1: 'J': '$') 
where amt was set to +50

BTW It looks like the result of the above will be set
to a size of 14 + 1 extra, as per Bob's e-mail.

$x,xxx,xxx.xx- if 14 char + an extra. I did some
testing on various sizes of the numeric field, as per
Bob's example, and it always came out one extra form
the max size of the number plus it's edit codes.

But make sure the resulting field is more than large
enought and evalr.
