We do this (create a data queue based on PSDS information) continually
throuighout the day for our POS system. I've never encountered performance
problems. Checking for a data queue, creating it if needed, and granting
object authority seem to fly.

Aaron, I have used the PSDS throughout my career, in programs ranging from
large monolithic programs to small service-type programs called thousands
or
even millions of times.

At no point have I ever noticed a performance hit from using the PSDS.
Never.
