It is possible I am confused with the select rather than the update, but 
the question is still valid if you can't select with the RUNSQLSTM, thats 
pretty limiting.

I do like the idea of having one repository for sql statements, if that 
will work for everything.  I have used that concept a few times, when 
working for companies flexible enough to allow me to get "wild" and put 
sql statement in a source file.
