If you go to the V5R4 Information Center and search on 'sha-1 hash' you 
will get several hits.   One, the first in my search, is Calculate Hash 
(C3CALHA, Qc3CalculateHash).  Selecting this gets you to 
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/apis/qc3calha.htm

Looking at the API documentation, format ALGD0500 supports MD5, SHA-1, 
SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512.
