Performance Explorer sounds like what you need.

A quick tutorial is at

subject: RPG Program Profiling

hello,

i have got a little problem here. i have got a program which takes over
a day to finish (not one of my own programs). now i need to refactor
this program to optimize the time it needs to finish. but i don't know
exactly what takes it so long.

is there any profiling tool which tracks what the program does (how
often it uses procedure x and how long it stays in the procedure?). only
looking at the source doesn't help.

thanx in advance.

mk
