Date(%editw(MyDate,"0    -  -  ")
... But don't mix RPG with SQL!
(Date is an SQL scalar function, while %EditW is a RPG built-in-function)

My example was pure SQL.
Converting a numeric date into a real date with RPG is much easier:
/Free
   MyDate = %Date(MyNumDate: *ISO);
/End-Free

Converting numbers into dates and dates into numbers is one of the few
features in date calculation that is much easier with native RPG than in
SQL.

It is also possible to write an RPG function to convert the numeric date
into a real date and register this RPG-Function as SQL UDF.
After you can use this RPG Function in SQL like any other scalar function.
