So, it sounds like your UDF would need to be modified to insert a '20' for the first part of the year. Or be changed to use a sliding scale, much like RPG's guesstimator. No problem. Just something to be aware of. Cool trick about the HEX. When even DSPPFM has been modified to display a date field in all it's glory it confuses the bit pickers on how a date field really doesn't eat up that much space. Wonder why they ever did that with date fields and DSPPFM? Probably a transitional issue so that OPM RPG could at least read the date field as a text field. I'll be honest. I was confused when I first stated using date fields in 1996. I can still remember looking at the DSPPFM and wondering about the space. The gent working with me said simply IBM wrote DSPPFM, they probably modified it to display it in all it's glory. Rob Berendt
