"But the data load was too large..."? How was that determined? Did you build a logical file that selected all records, and then read all records in that logical file and the results of that had too many records? If so, have you thought of building a logical file that sorted by date (instead of selection by date)? Then you could use the SETLL operation code. Sorry if this sounds too beginner, but I've seen an RPG coder with years of experience that did not know about SETLL followed by READ. They literally did a chain on a numeric key in a loop until no hit was made. Rob Berendt
