I remember a story about a Cobol programmer who was dieing of a disease. He
had his body frozen hoping that in the future they would find a cure and
revive him. Sure enough in the year 9999 they do just that. When he
finally wakes up and he asks why they revived him they say "Well the year
10000 is coming and we understand you know something about Cobol..."

You could just as easily substitute RPG for Cobol.

HI - This is a Friday topic. But, I was having a conversation w/ the
company Controller. He indicated that he was concerned regarding the long
term support for the RPG language. He is not an IT guy, but is very
industry savvy.

I immediatly laughed and said no way, the support will always be there.

Then he got me to thinking, what if he is right?

Does anyone else share this concern?

Steve
