Hi Adam

Just my opinion but I use Select/when for a straight choice  e.g.  Choice of
day = Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday etc and If/Else for logic flow that
lends itself to a "tree" structure e.g.  if weather = raining, 
        if have-coat-with-me 
        then go out 
        else stay in 
else go out anyway
