I was once taught, in either VB or ASP.NET that True equals to -1, anything
else besides -1 is false. So I'd imagine, that this is the same for RPG.
1 equates to true. Anything returned from the procedure is false.

I tested returning '2' from an indicator prototype and it returned that the
prototype isn't true, as it should.

Uummm. If the compiler is not sicked, then why it let me return a char
when the prototype says it should return a indicator?

No because now it's a Char constant.

Barbara: I think complier is sick....
It compiled when I change SUCCESSFUL to const('1')

Below actually compile
D SUCCESSFUL c const('1')
D proc1 pr n

C eval *inlr = *on
 *------------------------------------------------------
 * test return with not SUCCESSFUL
P proc1 B
D pi n

C return not SUCCESSFUL
P proc1 E

I'm getting this:
Msg id Sv Number Seq Message text

RNF7421 30 12 001200 Operands are not compatible with the type of

If I changed SUCCESSFUL to be a variable, it compile ok. Any reason
why I can't do "return not constBoolean"?
