Are the field names on the output file unique, or are they also defined on
the input files?
If they are defined on the input files, you can CLEAR the fields after each
write, but the next read of those files will automatically populate the
fields on the output file. If this is the case, then the question is -
what is in the fields on the input files?

HI I am having a problem w/ building a work file. I do a few chains to
various files, for the purpose of identifying problem records in our EDI
system.
I am getting strange data in the output, I do a CLEAR after every WRITE.
but I must be missing something.
There are 2 writes to this file. The first is if there is a no found
condition, between one set of EDI files and another (they should be
matched).
The other is when a field is not equal to same field in a cross ref. file.
Thanks,
Steve
