Hi Venkatesh, A Suggestion ... Since you know which jobs has to have a low priority, when compared to other jobs already running on the system then 1) Submit all the jobs with SBMJOB each job with a unique "Job Name" with Hold(*YES), at the same build a work file with the job names you are submitting 2) once submitted all the jobs manually, you may have to look into the priority of jobs already running on the system using WRKSBMJOB command 3) Once you know the priority of the existing jobs then 4) Call one more CL program wich will receive a Parameter value - Priority, with low priority value than the existing jobs on the system, and in this CL program read the Work file built at step 1 and for each record found 5) Execute CHGJOB command for JOBPTY (value received in the input parameter) and then execute RLSJOB command to release the jobs submitted at step1 (for both these commands job names are from the work file) 6) continue step 5 until Endof work file is reached and then terminate the CL program Thanks Sadiq -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Venkateshwar Venkataraman Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 5:02 PM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Need some help. Hi, I need some batch jobs to run in the system at a lower priority on the system compared to other jobs already running on the system. They are being submitted using SBMJOB command from a CL program. SBMJOB has parameter for job priority on JOBQ but doesnot have option to change job priority once it is relaesed. I feel the only way this can be done isusing CHGJOB. Can someone advice if there is anyother way of doing this? Thanks, Venky. **************** CAUTION - Disclaimer ***************** This e-mail contains PRIVILEGED AND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION intended solely for the use of the addressee(s).
