First of all, I'd never, ever define dates as *MDY in DDS. You only have a 100 year window. I would use *ISO or *USA. I don't know how DFU handles date fields, though, since we don't use it and have had the authority to it revoked in favor of EZVIEW (which produces an audit file). But, *MDY ought to give you a range of 1940 through 2039. Have you tried that with / without separators? (The year 2899 is the upper range for *CYMD dates when converting with %date, or testing with TEST(D), or moving them). Francis Lapeyre IS Dept. Programmer/Analyst Stewart Enterprises, Inc. Palme Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2006 3:04 PM To: RPG Group Subject: *MDY date issue We have several fields that are defined in both the PF and the DDS as *MDY with a type L designation. When atempeting to update the record in DFU we are getting a date time stamp error message. I believe that for a two digit year the limitation is 1940 through 28xx correct? So how in the world do I represent 2006? it will not take 06 for whatever reason. Suggestions, hints, or tell me I am too much trouble and need to leave.....
