I am having a problem moving a date, I know it is going to be something
really stupid on my part, but any help would be appreciated.

I have two variables defined as follows:

DDMYSDATE S 10A
DDMYEDATE S 10A

I am passing them a date value with the following c-spec:
C EVAL DMYSDATE = '02/01/2006'
C EVAL DMYEDATE = '02/28/2006'

up to this point everything is fine.....however when I attempt to move the
dates into two fields on a report, which are defined as type L it balks:

Here is the move statement:

C MOVE DMYSDATE PRTSTARTD
C MOVE DMYEDATE PRTENDD

I get a date/timestamp error everytime.....

Suggestions?

If you bought it, it was hauled by a truck - somewhere, sometime.
