The second level text of message RNF0571 states:

Cause . . . . . : The second parameter for built-in function %LOOKUP, %LOOKUPGE, %LOOKUPGT, %LOOKUPLE, or %LOOKUPLT must be the name of an array.

Clearly, the expression, getArray(), is not the name of an array.

As someone else suggested, you can do the following because myArray IS the name of an array:

D myArray         S              3    Dim(8)

C                   Eval      myArray = getArray()
C                   if        %lookup('   ' :myArray) > 0
C                   endif

Any idea why I'm getting this compile error? "*RNF0571 20     37 000300

D getArray pr 3 dim(8) C if %lookup(' ' :getArray()) C endif C eval *inlr = *On ******************************************************* P getArray B D pi 3 dim(8) D prArray s 3 dim(8) C return prArray P getArray E
