Removing subfile

I am working on a program that displays a DSPF with several fields that the 
user can enter a "?" and get a subfile listing of those accounts which can 
be used as a billto.

My question is once the user makes a selection on the subfile and that 
information is returned to the original DSPF, how do I remove the subfile 
from displaying again. 

It seems as though if the user exits the program before saving the data the 
subfile is displayed again a second time.
