Here's the situation......

 I have a prompt screen which I key a word to be searched for.

Here's the code which creates the SQL Statement

 * Create SQL Statement based on what's been keyed
c                   eval      search ='%'+%trim(compny)+'%'
c                   eval      mainstatement =
c                             'select * from guser02 where ' +
c                             'gubcap like ' +
c                             '''' + %trim(search) + '''' +
c ' order by gubusn for read only'
 *
Works like a charm 'til I key the search word which contains an
apostrophe, for example St. John's, then I get an invalid token error
based on the statement below.

select * from guser02 where gubcap like '%ST. JOHN'S%' order
 by gubusn for read only

Any suggestions...TIA
Pat.
