I agree completely Scott - but it isn't likely to change unless a few people (Customers) complain publicly and to IBM about it. The problem is that the tool that generates the RPG includes from (I believe) the C headers was never really funded for RPG IV. So what we get is a warmed over RPG III version - hence the short names, from/to notation, and use of the B datatype. Maybe Linoma would donate a copy of their RPG IV conversion tool to IBM!
