Yivi, If you are getting a Level Check when opening the second file, then there *must* be a difference in the buffers between the files. Even a field in a different order between records could cause this. I would suggest that you do a DSPFD TYPE(*RCDFMT) for each file and compare the level id's. Then do a DSPFFD for each file and compare the field & indicator buffer locations. This should help you find the problem.
