Tony,
I find that it's easier to let the the RCVJRNE command do much of the
work for you. Then you only need to code an exit program. Similar to
triggers, which are really just a form of exit program, you get passed a
buffer containing the structure of the journal entry plus an event code
which, if it equals '1' you do your own thing with the entry.

Subject: Journal APIs

I am working on writing a program to retrieve journal entries, and store
them in a 'change history' file, for inquiry. I started reading about
the
QjoRetrieveJournalEntries() API, and I am wondering if anybody has
created a
prototype. I looked at the one in QSYSINC, and it seems to be a bunch of
DS's, and a CONST specifying the name QjoRetrieveJournalEntries.

Also, if you have an example you have created, I would be mucho
grateful.

I know how to use the DSPJRN CL command, but I thought I might make it
neater than outputting to a file in QTEMP, reading through the file,
repeat
for each library, etc.
