There have been several other good replies, including getting Paul Conte's
book, but I'll add that browsing through the archives -- both here and
Midrange-L -- should prove worthwhile. I learned embedded SQL myself from
reading these lists and trying out the posted examples. There's also a
section in the Sorcerer's Guide ("Who Knew . . . ") that talks about
embedded SQL.

And don't be discouraged from asking questions -- IMHO, the lists are
actually pretty tolerant of newbies; otherwise most of us wouldn't be here
:-).
